Hawaii’s road woes continue.

Erin Ortega scored early in the second half Friday and Cal Santa Barbara beat the Rainbow Wahine 1-0.

In earning their first Big West victory of the season, the Gauchos sent UH (6-7-2, 1-3) to its fifth straight road loss. Dating back to last season, the ‘Bows have dropped 18 of their last 20 on the road.

Santa Barbara (4-9-2, 1-3-1) outshot UH 10-1 in the first half, then finally broke through when Ortega found the back of the net from 22 yards out off an assist from Sara Feder in the 49th minute.

Tiana Fujimoto tallied all three shots on goal for UH, which suffered its second consecutive 1-0 setback. Kanani Taaca made one save. Now losers of six of seven, Hawaii moves up the California coast to face Big West leader Cal Poly at 9 a.m. Sunday.
